I earned my BA in Fine Arts at George Washington University, in conjunction with the Corcoran School of Art, where I studied design, typography and printmaking. The first part of my career involved commercial design, advertising and animation. It was my honed sense of composition and layout that has been instrumental in the second part of my career as a painter. My abstract canvases in mixed media, including oils, cold wax, paper, photography and transparency film, reflect my fascination with geometric composition, grids, patterns, color and light.
After painting daily in a light-filled studio at the Jackson Art Center in Washington DC, I have found another wonderful studio on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where the light, landscape and water provide exceptional motivation.
